Omnisend is the best value email and SMS platform for Shopify stores that do not need enterprise-level analytics. You get 90% of what Klaviyo offers at roughly half the price, with a genuinely useful free plan. The deliverability concern is real but manageable with good list hygiene. If you are doing under $50K per month and your list is under 50K contacts, Omnisend is the smarter starting point. Move to Klaviyo only when you need predictive analytics or outgrow the platform.

What is Omnisend?

Omnisend is an e-commerce email and SMS marketing platform that competes directly with Klaviyo at a significantly lower price point. It holds a 4.8 rating on the Shopify App Store from over 2,700 reviews and powers email marketing for more than 150,000 brands.

The platform bundles email, SMS, and web push notifications into every plan including the free tier, which is unusual in this space. For Shopify sellers, the integration is deep: product syncing, one-click abandoned cart automation, and hourly Shopify segment syncing all work out of the box.

This means more of your emails may land in spam or promotions tabs. Good list hygiene and authentication setup mitigate this, but it is a real concern.

Move to the Pro plan at $59 per month when you need unlimited emails and bundled SMS credits. Consider switching to Klaviyo only when your list exceeds 50K contacts and you need predictive analytics to drive segmentation decisions.
